My name is Maria Paglieri and I am the owner/operater of Sad Truth in Toronto, Canada.

If asked to choose the single most important aspect of who I am, I wouldn't hesistate to say it's my love of people. For me this means not just being liked by people, or being around people, or knowing people—but understanding people on a level that sometimes borders on obsession.

Sad Truth is the embodiment of the knowledge I’ve gained so far and that which I hope to gain about the way that people act, live, come together and break apart. With an insatiable lust for life and general distaste for rigid systems, my keen interest in socioeconomic observation has brought me around the world to learn about the universal characteristics that string us all together.

For me, life is about not only the good experiences we all share, nor the bad ones, but the experiences we never realized we were sharing to begin with.
